Dr. Hafsa Affendi
Dr. Hafsa Affendi grew up in the Himalayan region of India named Cashmere and she moved to New Delhi-NCR to attend dental school where she graduated from ITSCDSR with a BDS (Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery) in 2015. She moved to the U.S. in 2016 to pursue specialty training in the field of Orofacial pain and TMJ disorders from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, New Jersey. There, she performed research on ‘post-traumatic trigeminal neuropathic pain’ as part of her master’s thesis. She received her training in Endodontics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and graduated in 2023 with a masters and certificate in Endodontics. While at U of M, she also performed research on ‘fNIRs brain imaging to measure and localize cortical changes directly from the human brain in a pain model of Endodontic origin’ as part of her master’s research project. Dr. Affendi has published papers and delivered lectures nationally and internationally; and she aims to integrate her skills of a pain specialist in her practice of Endodontics. Dr. Affendi considers Ann Arbor home after having lived here since 2019. She is elated to provide care to the patients in the area. In her free time, she enjoys the company of her two cats and spends time cooking and hosting friends. Her favorite weekend activities include kayaking, trekking and fine dining. She considers herself a connoisseur of food and is always looking for restaurant recommendations.
